Speaking of the symbols of Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan District, it is inevitable to mention "Khao Chong Krachok", a small mountain that stands majestically on the coast of Prachuap Bay, outstanding with its transparent mountain pass like a natural glass frame. This place is not only beautiful with unseen views that can see the three bay curves (Ao Noi, Prachuap Bay, Ao Manao) in 360 degrees, but it is also the location of the Buddha's footprint and the pagoda containing the Buddha's relics for the merit-makers to walk up 396 steps to pay respect for good fortune.
But the highlight that makes tourists alert all the time is the "locals" or a huge number of monkeys living on this mountain. Let me tell you first that the monkeys here are famous for being mischievous and fierce, no less than the monkeys in Lopburi (maybe even fiercer!). Tourists can buy food to feed the monkeys, but must be especially careful, keep their belongings hidden, and the most important thing for two-wheelers is "do not leave the motorcycle keys in."
Why? Because the monkeys are very smart! They might twist the motorcycle and run away to travel around the city instead of you (this is a joke, haha, but stealing things or tearing the seat is real). So park your car and keep the keys well before walking up the mountain to absorb the atmosphere, get some cool sea breeze, and take beautiful photos as a souvenir. If you come to Prachuap, you must check in at Khao Chong Krachok, otherwise it is considered that you have not arrived!
