When visiting King Mongkut Memorial Park of Science and Technology Waghor, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, another important landmark that is like the heart of this area is the "Astronomy and Space Building," or what many people are familiar with as the Wa Ko Royal Observatory, a towering building that contains the amazing stories of the universe and the history of Thai science. It is perfect for tourists who want to open up a fun and in-depth learning experience at the same time.

Inside the building, the learning zones are divided proportionally. The most important part is the exhibition honoring King Mongkut (Rama IV), the Father of Thai Science, who accurately calculated the total solar eclipse at Wa Ko more than a hundred years ago. Walking through the origin of this historical page will amaze you with his ability to lay the foundations of Thai astronomy to be comparable to other civilized countries.

Following the stories in history, this building will take you across time to the future in the cosmic science zone, which simulates the atmosphere and provides knowledge about living in space. You will see how astronauts eat, live, and work in zero gravity, which is a rare perspective and inspires children and those interested in extraterrestrial stories very well.

A very special highlight that must not be missed is the exhibition zone that connects to the interest in astronomy of the "Princess Mother" or Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani. Inside, there is an exhibition of the Princess Mother's own paintings of stars and constellations, which reflects the delicacy and love of the stars. There is also a story about the "Universe image on the ceiling of Doi Tung Royal Villa," which is an elaborate wood carving of the solar system and zodiac constellations, modeled after these interests and paintings, allowing us to see an artistic perspective that blends with science beautifully and perfectly.
